About Us
Brookfield Maple Products is a family-owned-and-operated maple farm business, registered, licensed, and inspected by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Located in Brookfield Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, we work very hard to ensure nothing but the best in maple products all year long, such as; maple syrup in glass or plastic jugs, maple granulated sugar, maple cream, maple candy, and maple gift baskets. We are very proud to offer Certified Organic maple products. Our maple products are sold retail, wholesale, and bulk, and can be shipped to any location via USPS, UPS, Fedex, and even LTL Freight.
Brookfield Maple Products are produced on the family maple farm, located in the Northwest corner of Brookfield Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Maple syrup has been made on the maple farm for many generations. Brookfield Maple Products started in 1996 in an old sugar shack in the woods, making just enough maple syrup for our families and friends. At that time, we had no running water or electricity. It didn’t hurt our feelings when that building burned down during a wildfire.
After the fire, we installed a 2’x8’ wood-fired evaporator in the garage. This enabled us to have electric, but running water consisted of a garden hose.
In 1998, we renovated an old bookstore building on the maple farm, added hot and cold running water, and built an addition to make a new sugarhouse. Since that time, we have added and updated equipment every year. We now use a new 3’x12’ oil-fired evaporator and a reverse osmosis, (RO) machine. Our new sugarhouse consists of five major areas, Evaporator room, Cold storage, RO room, Storage, and the Kitchen/Sales area.
In 2004, we became “Certified Organic” through the “NOFA-NY Certified Organic, LLC.” We are very proud to be able to offer our customers a “Certified Organic” choice.
In 2005, we became maple equipment dealers for Lapierre, USA.
In 2013 we converted our 3’x12' evaporator from oil to natural gas, we installed a PiggyBack unit on our evaporator, and replaced our 600 gallon per hour Reverse Osmosis machine with a brand new 1,200 gallon per hour Lapierre Reverse Osmosis.
In June of 2014 we constructed a new Kitchen and remodeled the old area into our new equipment and maple sales area.
In July of 2014 we signed a joint venture contract with "Sweet Revolution Caramels" and started producing Certified Organic Maple-Honey Caramels and Sauce.
In 2017 we increased the size of our sugarbush and starting installing a state-of-the-art Lapierre Monitoring system which allowed us to monitor our woods tubing system and monitor the tanks levels of our sap tanks in the sugarbush.
In 2018 we added more monitoring devices in the sugarbush. We added some key maple sugaring equipment in the sugarhouse, including a new automatic draw-off, automatic defoamer, new draw-off tank, and an additional membrane to our existing RO machine. My favorite purchase was my 1985 AM General 5-ton Army Truck that I use for gathering the sap from the sugarbush. The best addition was our new pneumatic bottling system.
In the 2019 season, we added a couple more monitoring boxes in the sugarbush, and installed a new 10" plate filter press.
We have continued to build our business at a nice slow pace that allows us to grantee that products that we deliver to you are the best.
